Rose all Day.

Today I want to talk about Rose and not just kind you drink!  Pantone recently announced the colors of 2016 are Rose Quartz and Serenity.  I personally love them both but especially Rose Quartz.  It is such a beautiful neutral color.

I love the idea of it for interior accents.

There are so many ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe as well.  I have been loving rose gold jewelry for the past few years.  It is a nice alternative to gold.  Rose Quartz or Blush is the most gorgeous shade year round.  I love it paired with white in the Spring/Summer and it also pairs well with black.

If I had a wedding or event coming up, I would be all over that gown.  It is stunning and comes in 2 other colors. I own the tee shirt and ray-bans , they are awesome.  I also love the cross back tank, it is sitting in my cart.   The Glitter Stud earrings are a steal under $40 and they would go with everything!

Crunchy Chopped Detox Salad + My Go-To Favorite Cookbooks

You know I couldn't start the New Year off without a new salad recipe.  I have been trying to eat really clean since the New Year because I have gained several pounds.  I am up about 5-6 pounds more than I like to weigh.  I have tried to limit my snacks, carbs, and sugar.  I will post a food dairy soon sharing my meals for a few days.  This salad is a great detox salad because it is filled with so many vegetables which equals so many vitamins and nutrients for your body.  I left the cheese off because I was trying to make it a really clean meal but this would be amazing with some chopped feta or blue cheese added in as well.
For the dressing I really recommend the Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.  It is really good for digestion.  You could sub red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar though if you don't have apple cider vinegar.
The salad will save in your fridge for several days if you keep the dressing separate.
It is such a gorgeous salad, a rainbow on a plate!
Enjoy!

I had a reader request to share my favorite cookbooks.  No joke I own at least 50 cookbooks.  I love collecting them.  Some people like to browse coffee table books, I like to browse cookbooks.  They provide me so much inspiration.  I am kind of a cookbook snob though.  I am particular about format and I really like a picture with each recipe.  I have handful of cookbooks that I use more often than others and that is the ones pictured below.  You can't go wrong with any of them!

I have to admit I am a bit obsessed with Ina Garten, she is my food hero.  I own every single one of her cookbooks and I promise they are all amazing.  I tried to narrow down my 3 favorites from her.  I also love Gwyneth Paltrow's cookbooks so many of my favorite veggie sides have come from her.
The Donna Hay cookbook is hands down the most beautiful cookbook, her food pictures are stunning.  Clean Slate is perfect for getting back on track and healthy eating.
I would love to hear if you have any favorites not on my list!

New Year New Obsessions.

A few things I am loving in 2016.  A few of them I own and the rest are wish list items:)

Since we are in the midst of planning our tropical vacation for this Summer I have resort wear on the brain.  I actually ordered this suit awhile back during the shop bop sale.  I love it,  the fit is great and it is reversible! The other side is all black.

I recently got this face mask and I am loving it. It stings at first which I like to think means the impurities are coming out of my skin.  Afterwards my skin feels so incredibly soft and refreshed.

Bon Appetit is by far my favorite cooking magazine I subscribe to, so when I saw this cookbook was coming out I immediately ordered it.  It is perfect for clean eating ideas for those of us who love food.

The cutest cover-up and the price is great under $90.
also comes in black.

I received a sample of this perfume and have been hooked ever since.  I loved the smell so much I just ordered the bottle.  It smells heavenly.  Light, fresh and not over powering at all.

This would be super cute with booties now and then flats come Summer!

I love the idea of this bracelet set.  You get to choose 5 bracelets to build your own stack.  Currently on sale too!

This brush will rock your world.  I am hooked.  I used to just use my fingers to apply my tinted moisturizer but this applies it so much better.  It really makes your skin look flawless and almost air-brushed because it gets in your pores and spreads it evenly.

The perfect nude blouse.  It would go with everything for every season.  It also comes in black.

I have fitness on my brain for the New Year and I am loving these new Zella Leggings.

I am still loving the off shoulder look.   The black and white pattern on this top makes it pop.  Would be cute with jean shorts this summer or colored jeans now.  It is priced under $100.

This is cutest travel bag and only $75.  The size is perfect for a weekend get away.  I am actually thinking of ordering one for Sterling and Frances putting their initials on it.  It is a classic bag they could use for years to come.
These tees are some of my favorites.  I own two different ones now.  I love that the fit is loose and longer.  The pair great with leggings and jeans.

Everyone's favorite cover up from last year is back out in new colors.

Life Lately

Happy First Monday of 2016! While I enjoyed every minute of the holidays with my family I am so ready to get back in a routine!  I had lots of down time and feel refreshed and ready to get organized and tackle the New Year!

For Christmas my sister gave me a new yoga mat and the large size S'well bottle.  I have been enjoying both.  My old yoga mat sucked.  It was old and worn out and offered no traction, so far I am loving this one.  I especially love the cool pattern.

I definitely gained a few pounds over the holidays so I have been trying to get back on track with my healthy eating.  I made my favorite Chopped Greek Salad last week.  If you assemble it like this is lasts longer and doesn't get soggy.

I mentioned before but sister had her second baby last week.  They named him Rutledge and I have been loving all the sweet pictures of him.  We are going to try and head home next weekend to meet him! I love newborn snuggles.

After so many days of rain the sun finally came out last week for a few days.  The kids and I enjoyed some time near the water.  We were all needing some Vitamin D.

We had some friends in town visiting from New York and went out for dinner and drinks. We ate at The grocery, still one of my favorite restaurants in town.

The kids were so excited about New Year's Eve this year.  Normally we stay in and celebrate with them but this year we actually made plans.  I bought a bunch of fun hats and sparkling cider and let them enjoy it with us before we went out:)

We went out to dinner with two other couples for New Year's Eve and had so much fun!  A fun tradition I hope we keep up!

New Year's day it was rainy and dreary so we just relaxed all day.  We did enjoy the standard New Year meal of collard greens, black eyed peas, mac and cheese and Ina Garten's Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread.  This Cornbread is seriously amazing.

I have been living in this sweater lately.  I love the fun print and it is currently on sale 40% making it only $40. It is super cute with leggings and a tee or jeans.
Sizing wise it runs TTS.  I am wearing a small.

We burned our Christmas Tree.  It is a very redneck tradition that our kids love.

Made the easiest appetizer ever.  3 ingredients : Dates + Gruyere + Bacon.  Stuff the dates with the cheese and wrap with bacon and bake at 350 degrees about 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and bacon is crispy.

Lily Lovers don't miss out the Lily sale starts today!
You can shop HERE.
I am loving so many of the little girl outfits and their Resort Wear.
Here is to a great first week in 2016!
