Beach Trip Recap: Books, Food, and Pregnancy Style

Happy Monday Loves.   It is back to reality for me after a glorious week at the beach. Luckily my little man has school today so I have a few uninterrupted hours to get shiz done. I have a mile long to-do list before little Miss Mason arrives in 11 weeks.

We had such an amazing week at the beach. Even though I live a short 25 minute drive from Isle Palms it was so great to stay out there for the week, I forget how gorgeous it is out there.

We kicked off our vacation with drinks at the Yacht Club the night before we headed to IOP.  This is all of us ladies: my sister in law, mom,  my sister and me plus Sterling.

Our house was right on the beach and I woke up to this view every morning.  Not a bad spot to sit and sip your coffee.  Although Sterling got me up before dawn almost everyday,  guess kids don't get it about sleeping in on vacation.  I did at least get to watch several gorgeous sunrises.

I am such a book worm on beach trips.  I read 3 books this past week.  The house we stayed at had a huge basket filled with books and I found these in it.  I loved all three of them.
They were all very different but such intriguing reads.  Defending Jacob was a legal thriller, I am still reeling from the ending.  It kept me in suspense til the very end.  Hopeless was a tween novel but it reminded me a bit of the Twilight love story, easy read, really good.  Beautiful Day was the perfect beach read.  Liked it so much I just downloaded another of Elin Hilderbrands novels to read.

This was our first beach trip with two kids, since my sister had her baby and it was so fun.   Sterling loved on his cousin Finley so much.  He is going to be the best big brother.

We managed to snap a few decent family pictures, always a miracle.

Sterling is such a ham for the camera, this is his typical face.  Christmas card pictures are going to be fun this year:)

Sterling spent alot of quality time with his Uncle Logan this week.  We joked that he was so good and patient with Sterling because he has no kids of his own yet!  But seriously he entertained him which allowed me some solo down time.

Me and my sweet Dad who makes this trip possible every year!

The bump and I enjoyed alot of time relaxing on the beach which was so nice.
Wore my House of Harlow necklace like everyday, it is such a gem.  I get stopped every time I wear it with people complimenting me on.  Great purchase if you need a fun necklace that goes with everything.

We ate some incredible food.  We usually cook in most nights but we did eat out at Salt on Sullivan's and it was off the hook good.  We also had lunch at Crave in Mt Pleasant and it delish.  Pizza is from Salt and BLT salad is from Crave.  Last picture is my moms famous Blue Cheese and Bacon Coleslaw, recipe coming Wednesday.

Wanted to show two of my favorite pregnancy outfits, that I have been living in this pregnancy.
First is this Demylee Trapeze Shirt and Pleasure Doing Business Bandage Skirt.  I ordered the skirt while I was pregnant with Sterling and love it.  It is fitted but not too tight and I think bandage skirts are really slimming.  Demylee shirts have been my fav this pregnancy and I know I will wear them after too.  They run really large, I got an XS and it has fit me before and during pregnancy.

{Demylee Tank Top | Bandage Skirt (similar) | Tkees Flip Flops}

I also own these Demylee swing tee shirts that I wear as much as the tank version  I swear their shirts are the softest most comfortable things ever!  Plus they are great pregnant or not.  I wear mine all the time with my JBrand jean shorts and come Fall will pair with jeans or leggings.

Second item I have been living in, is this Rebecca Taylor Ombre Shirtdress.  I stalked it til it went on sale and I am obsessed with it.  Runs really large, I could still wear a 2 pregnant.  If you want one buy it now as it is pretty much sold out everywhere but these few spots.
Available on sale HERE, and HERE

The blouse version of the ombre dress is also available and I love it.  I am considering ordering it as well.

Ok, that is all I have for today! Go get your Monday on!

Nursery Design by Pawleys Island Posh

To wrap up Baby Girl's nursery series,  I have another real life friend creating a kick ass nursery for baby girl.  I have been floored by these amazing designs all week.  My friends know me well and what I love!  Julia used to live in Pawleys Island a mere hour and half from Charleston and we saw her frequently. Now we don't see her quite as much and I miss her like crazy, thank goodness for emails and texts!   From the moment I started reading Julia's blog I knew she had incredible taste.  From the artwork she creates to how she decorated her house, my friend has major talent.  I am obsessed with her nursery design it is so me!
Enjoy!

I am so thrilled to be here sharing a fun nursery design for my dear friend Natalie's little girl!  She is going to be the sweetest and most stylish baby girl ever and I can't hardly wait to meet her!  This baby girl has an on-the-go mama and a wild-man big brother so she'll need a calm retreat to get her beauty rest.  But nothing too sweet or boring for this baby girl!

Nursery Design by Michaela Noelle Designs

Today I am thrilled to have Miss Michaela Noelle designing a nursery for baby girl. Michaela's blog was one of the first blogs I started reading and we immediately connected. She has a great eye for design and is honestly one of the most genuine and sweetest girls around.  She has been giving me lost of tips and ideas for baby girls nursery and I love all of them.  I am totally smitten with this mood board she put together!  The rug she featured is the actual rug we have for the nursery and let me tell you its awesome!

I'm so excited to be at Natalie's blog today sharing my design ideas for baby girl Mason's nursery. Sterling is so, so cute, and I can only imagine how beautiful this little girl will be! I'm over the moon excited for N, that she'll get to play dress up and decorate this little one's nursery. Her kiddos are so blessed to have her as their mama.

Okay, onto the nursery design!

Since Natalie is a bit edgy in style, I wanted to keep the room girly and fresh, without looking like your typical "baby" room. Pops of black, lavender, pink and gold will keep the nursery modern, yet playful. For the windows, I'm suggesting Natalie buys these white curtains with a black tassel lining the edge (which she told me she loved!) and sew a 15" panel of the gold fabric (pictured above), to the bottom portion of the drapery panel. This will give the room a burst of gold and another fun geometric pattern, but won't break the bank!

Add in a few stuffed animals and perfectly adorable baby girl clothes, and this sweet thing is ready to come home! Thanks for letting me share this nursery plan with your readers, Natalie!
XO
Michaela

Obsessions

Happy Thursday y'all. We are having the best time on vacation, seriously my favorite week of the year! I will be back on Monday with some pictures. Today I wanted to pop in with a few of my current obsessions.  Then I have two more fabulous nursery designs for Friday and Saturday!

Right now Gap is having their huge baby and kids sale up to 40% off everything.  There are some fab deals but this little number stole my heart.  I picture my little girl in this leopard dress with tights and booties next Fall.  Major.

This dress looks so comfy and totally conducive for a pregnant belly.  I love that they paired it with my Rag and Bone Booties it is practically screaming for me to buy it.  A great casual Fall Dress.  I love that the scalloped hem line steps up a plain tee shirt dress and makes it more feminine.

This blouse is such a steal at 70% off.  I can't believe its still in stock.  I love Rebecca Taylor blouses so much.  They are always so feminine and so flattering.  You could easily wear this one into Fall with skinny jeans and leather coat or draped sweater.  I love the colors they are so bright and fresh.

Is this not the perfect little black dress??  and it is only $58.  You could wear this for so many occasions.

I am loving this rich red color for Fall and love the loose relaxed fit of this dress.   Great paired with booties.

I featured the leopard Gap flats last week and then saw these and love them just as much.  They come in four gorgeous colors for Fall and are such a fab price.

I am not sure I could pull these pants off but I kind of want to try.  I keep seeing this style pants everywhere.  They look so comfy and chic at the same time.  You could dress them up or wear them causally with a tee and flip flips for running errands.   They look just like these Joie slouch pants but for a fraction of the price.

I am convinced I need a cape for Fall and this one is top of my list.   It would go with everything and I love the slight herringbone pattern.

Nursery Design by Hanging With The Hewitts

Hey Friends.  I hope you are enjoying the nursery series this week, I know I am loving it.  I will be back tomorrow with a fun obsessions post and then have one more fab nursery design on Friday.  Today I am thrilled to have one of my best friends guest posting.  Caycee and I have been friends since before I got pregnant with Sterling.  It has been so fun to watch our boys grow up together and be such good friends and I can't wait to watch our little girls together- although lord I am scared of the trouble they will get in if they are anything like their Mamas!  Caycee's nursery design is just gorgeous!

..............................................................................

Hello Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers lovers! It's Caycee from Hanging with the Hewitts. I am dropping in while my girl Natalie is soaking up the last days of summer on vacay.
You know the two of us are like sisters, so don't think I won't drive down and crash her vacation! No really I might :) Now onto the reason I am here today. To show baby girl Mason some nursery love. To say that I am crazy over the moon excited about this precious girl arriving would be an understatement. I can not wait to watch our sweet girls grow up together, and hopefully have the friendship that Natalie and I share. Alright enough with the mushiness lets talk nursery design.

Nursery Design by Look Linger Love

Today I am super excited to have my real life friend, Chassity Evans,  creating a space for baby girl.  We connected a few years ago through our blogs and have been good friends ever since.   If you follow her blog Look Linger Love you know she has some amazing style. Her house is off the hook good y'all.  She has great taste and can really put a room together.  And her daughter Lily is the best dressed little girl around, I hope she is going to pass some old clothes baby girl's way or at least share some style tips with my daughter:)  I had no doubt Chassity would create something I would absolutely be in love with.  This space is perfection!

........................................................................

Hi Everyone! I'm so so so happy to be here today talking about Natalie's Baby Girl. I love her already and I haven't even officially met her. How lucky she will be to have Sterling as a big bro (I mean, imagine all the good looking friends he will have). Sorry Natalie and Matt.
Anyway, thanks for inviting me to design a nursery board for your little gal, Natalie. I hope you like it!

So some of you might know how much I love The Land of Nod. And I really love the new DucDuc line they just released. Such a good looking modern line. They also have a great collection of toys and things - especially Jess Brown dolls. Lilly has one that she LOVES.

That Marmont Pendant is a really versatile light - I have it in my powder room and a friend of mine has it in her hallway. Oh and that stripe rug is pretty great too - reminds me a lot of the Madeline Weinrib rug that's so popular. And you might have noticed that a chair is missing in the moldboard. I couldn't fit it in at the end but I highly recommend this Joya Rocker that we have in Fletcher's room. I love it for it's small shape and good looks. It has a nice smooth rock to it. I love this white leather version, too.

And because I'm getting this post to Nat super late and figure I outta go above and beyond for this guest post, I thought I'd throw in a few fun extras that I think Baby Girl Mason would love.

Just like how you can't have enough comfy onesies, nor can you have enough little booties. And have you smelled Noodle & Boo products before? They are intoxicatingly good. And we have a jellycat cow and I bet it's the softest stuffed animal we have in our house.
Can't wait to meet baby girl!

Nursery Design by Comfy Cozy Couture

To kick off our Nursery Design Series, I asked my blogging friend Dominque from Comy Cozy Couture to create a mood board for Baby girl.  I still can't believe we have not met in person yet- we are going to make that happen next time I am in Charlotte for real!!  Dominque has insane taste and can find an amazing bargain like no other.  Every score she instagrams I wish it was mine.  I knew she would create something very pretty for baby girl:)

Hi...Dominique here from Comfy Cozy Couture! I was so thrilled when Natalie asked me to create a nursery for baby Mason #2. She is one of my favorite bloggers and the most stylish mama to be, right?! I knew she wanted lavender + gray in her little girl's nursery so that was my inspiration for the design! Thanks Natalie for having me over!
